M.E.N.
Committee’s
Mission: It
is the mission
of the Men
Endorsing
Nonviolence
Committee to
create a
statewide
initiative to
include men as
collaborators in
efforts to be
accountable for
promoting safe,
respectful,
non-abusive
relationships.
This group
includes men and
women in our
communities that
are committed to
violence
prevention.
Goal
Implement a
regional
Training-of-Trainers
program that
empowers
communities to
engage men in
the movement to
end men’s
violence against
women.
Objectives
At the
conclusion of
this training,
participants
will be able to:
-
Build
community
capacity for
engaging men
as allies
and agents
of change.

Identify and
engage
untapped
partners in
the
community to
broaden
spheres of
influence in
working to
end men’s
violence
against
women;
-
Facilitate
dialogue
with
well-meaning
men on
issues
related to
partnering
with women
and
encourage
the use of
privilege
with
integrity;
and
-
Strategize a
coordinated
community
plan of
action to
end men’s
violence
against
women.
The group meets
every 4th
Wednesday of the
month at Dubuque
office of
Riverview Center
at 7:30am.
