Events
Our events and fundraisers are not just occasions; they are catalysts for spreading awareness about the vital services we provide. Each gathering serves as a platform to share our commitment to making a difference in the communities we serve.
Evening of Light 2024
We are honored to welcome Chanel Miller as our Keynote speaker. Chanel was once known as ‘Emily Doe’ before she became known publicly when she read her compelling and powerful victim impact statement ahead of Brock Turner’s sentencing in 2016. Her victim impact statement went viral, including a reading on the floor of Congress; it inspired changes in California law and the recall of the judge in the case. She went on to write a memoir, Know My Name.
The Evening and Luncheon of Light unites the survivors we serve with community members like yourself. We invite you to sponsor this empowering event. By supporting Riverview Center’s
Evening/Luncheon of Light, you help survivors get the advocacy, support, and counseling they need, while also increasing your brand awareness and community goodwill for your organization.
See below the sponsorship opportunities and the benefits for the Evening of Light events in Dubuque and Cedar Rapids, and the Luncheon of Light in Waterloo/Cedar Falls.
